My clinical work embraces a trauma-focused and mindfulness approach. I work with couples, adults, teens, and children to help treat symptoms of depression, anxiety, and trauma. I am passionate about witnessing the healing and growth within the family system and the individuals themselves. I believe that everyone has their own unique story and it is a privilege to create a safe space in which that story can be heard and transformed. John Schicke, AMFT, APCC

My commitment to mental health and therapy is deeply rooted in lived experience shaped by military service, adversity, and personal growth. As a combat veteran with multiple deployments, I have witnessed firsthand the lasting impact that trauma, prolonged stress, and separation can have on individuals and families. Beyond military life, I have also navigated the challenges of domestic violence, single parenthood, and raising children with unique emotional and developmental needs. Through these experiences, I came to understand that healing is not simply about enduring hardship, but about actively pursuing growth, resilience, and change. Therapy became a transformative part of that journey—providing insight, accountability, emotional regulation, and a space to heal without judgment These experiences have shaped both my personal values and professional path. Through intentional reflection and processing, I came to understand that resilience is not simply formed through enduring hardship.

I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences, build on their strengths, and move toward their goals. It is an honor to walk alongside clients through both the hills and valleys of life as they pursue healing, growth, and lasting transformation.
